Ellie Fry was the Deputy Editor of IndyBest, The Independent's product review section. She also wrote features, lifestyle news and comment pieces which cover violence against women, internet culture, fashion and beauty. She specialises in writing about domestic abuse and social policy through a feminist lens, with a keen interest in internet culture, politics and class. Ellie reported on the Domestic Abuse Bill alongside other social policy issues including austerity, universal credit and the housing crisis. She has interviewed many survivors of abuse and covered high profile court cases including Sally Challen’s landmark appeal. Outside of women’s issues, Ellie also wrote about relationships, health and beauty and secured exclusive product reviews with the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and Fenty Beauty, and interviewed celebrities such as Maya Jama. During her time at The Independent, she also wrote regularly for Voices, The Independent's comment desk, and has previous bylines in The Guardian and Inside Housing.
